Change customer letters and the email logo

Customer letters are what site owners receive from you: the care report, the warning before a hosting expires and the disk-quota letters. All of it is under Settings, Customer letters. Your own alerts have their wording under Alerts.

Before you start

• You are an Owner to save. An Administrator can open the page and sees the forms disabled.
• On a cluster the page’s language and wording are copied to every node by the settings sync.

Steps

Choose the language

1. Open Settings in the sidebar, then Customer letters, and find Languages.
2. In Customer letters, choose English or Čeština.
3. In Your wording is written in, say which language you write in. When set, your wording is used only in letters of that language, and other letters get the built-in wording. Not specified puts your wording in every letter.
4. In Billing reminder, choose the language of the “invoice this client” message to you, or leave it the same as the letters.
5. Click Save.

A site can have its own language. On the site’s Emails tab, open Language of this customer’s letters. The site’s own language wins, then its care package’s, then the setting above.

Reword a letter

1. Find Letters. The pill reads built-in or your wording.
2. Edit the Care report and the expiry warning fields. An empty field sends the built-in wording, shown as its placeholder. Start from the built-in fills the fields, and Clear empties them.
3. Click Save.

If the card warns that an older whole-letter template is in force, click Move into the editor or Discard. Until you do, changes in the editor reach nobody.

Reword single sentences

1. Find Sentences. It holds everything else Hyperion writes: the report’s sections, the disk-quota and billing letters, and your alerts and Slack lines.
2. Open a group and edit a sentence. Fill empty fields with the built-in wording gives you a starting point.
3. Click Save.

To work in a file, click Download all wording, and later use Replace the wording from a file. Replacing overwrites all your wording. Keep the downloaded copy, because replacing it again with that copy is the undo.

Add a logo

1. Find Logo. The logo heads every notification email. Without one, the panel hostname is the heading.
2. Choose a PNG, JPEG or GIF of up to 512 KB and click Upload.
3. Click Preview a message to see the result. Remove the logo takes it away.

Mail sent by worker nodes does not carry the logo.

Choose where Core Web Vitals come from

1. Find Care report measurements, then Core Web Vitals.
2. In Source, choose Off, Google PageSpeed Insights or Local Lighthouse. PageSpeed Insights has an optional API key. Lighthouse has to be installed on the node, and the card says whether it is.
3. Choose Measure as and Re-measure, then click Save.

Check that it worked

On the site’s care card, click Preview to read the letter as the customer will. See Send care reports to customers. After sending, the Email log shows the message.

If it fails

• The page says the agent’s settings or /etc/hyperion/agent.toml could not be read: saving is off until the file is readable. Check sudo hyperion status.
• Your wording does not appear in a letter: check Your wording is written in against the language of that letter.
